Kyla's WoW Pick:

A Thousand Pieces of You (Firebird, #1)
Written by:
Publisher: Harper Teen
Release Date: November 4th 2014
Genres: Young Adult, Science Fiction, Fantasy
Pages: 368 pages

Goodreads Synopsis:

Every Day meets Cloud Atlas in this heart-racing, space- and time-bending, epic new trilogy from New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray.

Marguerite Caine’s physicist parents are known for their radical scientific achievements. Their most astonishing invention: the Firebird, which allows users to jump into parallel universes, some vastly altered from our own. But when Marguerite’s father is murdered, the killer—her parent’s handsome and enigmatic assistant Paul—escapes into another dimension before the law can touch him.

Marguerite can’t let the man who destroyed her family go free, and she races after Paul through different universes, where their lives entangle in increasingly familiar ways. With each encounter she begins to question Paul’s guilt—and her own heart. Soon she discovers the truth behind her father’s death is more sinister than she ever could have imagined.

A Thousand Pieces of You explores a reality where we witness the countless other lives we might lead in an amazingly intricate multiverse, and ask whether, amid infinite possibilities, one love can endure.

The cover + synopsis + awesome author = PERFECT. I. NEED. THIS. BOOK. I can't wait for this book to be release! :)

Carmel's WoW Pick:

Lailah (The Styclar Saga, #1)
Written by:
Publisher: Feiwel & Friends
Release Date: October 7th 2014
Genres: Young Adult, Paranormal, Fantasy
Pages: 352 pages

Goodreads Synopsis:

The girl knows she’s different. She doesn’t age. She has no family. She has visions of a past life, but no clear clues as to what she is, or where she comes from. But there is a face in her dreams – a light that breaks through the darkness. She knows his name is Gabriel.

On her way home from work, the girl encounters an injured stranger whose name is Jonah. Soon, she will understand that Jonah belongs to a generation of Vampires that serve even darker forces. Jonah and the few like him, are fighting with help from an unlikely Allie – a rogue Angel, named Gabriel.

In the crossfire between good and evil, love and hate, and life and death, the girl learns her name: Lailah. But when the lines between black and white begin to blur, where in the spectrum will she find her place? And with whom?

Gabriel and Jonah both want to protect her. But Lailah will have to fight her own battle to find out who she truly is.

The cover reminds me of Revenge (a show that I love) but instead of her surrounded by thorns, she gets surrounded by arms. Interesting! When I read the synopsis, "She has visions of a past life, but no clear clues as to what she is, or where she comes from." Ooooh, memory loss. Perhaps, unreliable narration. Another interesting part! Plus, the author is just very accommodating, you know! Lailah is originally a Wattpad story and now, it has been pitched by Feiwel & Friends (That must say something!) How could you pass up a very promising debut?! SRSLY.
